General FAQs
(Click on each question to reveal the answer)
How do I get tickets?
Individual tickets will be available for purchase on our festival hub to the general public on August 14th at 9am CT. VIP badge holders & ticket package holders get early access to tickets starting August 12th at 9am CT. Learn more about VIP Badges here.
Can I volunteer for the festival?
Yes! This year’s festival is September 24-30th at venues across Nashville, and we recruit volunteers to support our operations at each venue during each day of the festival. Individual shifts are about four hours long and you can sign up for as many as you’d like. Volunteer duties include scanning tickets and checking credentials, line management, ushering and guiding patrons, and assisting with set-up and tear down of special events. As a thank you, we give volunteers a complimentary ticket to a film screening or panel of their choice for each shift worked. Volunteer shifts and sign-up will be available in August. We will post on our website and social media and send out an email newsletter when volunteer sign-ups open. I recommend following us on Instagram @nashfilmfest or subscribing to our newsletter to be notified.
Which badge or package is right for me?
The Nashville Film Festival offers a variety of badges to suit different interests. If you’re looking for maximum access to every screening and event in-person and online for the entirety of the festival, then the Icon Badge is for you. If you can only attend for the first few days but want maximum access, that’s what the Spotlight Badge is for. Our Creators Conference Badge is for folks who want access to all the panels with film and music industry pros, as well related happy hours and mixers. Lastly, if you’re a cinephile only interested in seeing movies and Q&As with filmmakers, we’ve got you covered with 7 and 14 ticket packages that save you money on tickets. Do I need a badge or package to attend the festival?
No, individual tickets can be purchased for both in-person and virtual film screenings, Creators Conference panels or events, and certain parties. For most screenings and events, rush tickets will be available on-site on a first come, first served basis. Certain events like happy hours and mixers are non-ticketed and exclusive access to badge holders.
Does the festival accept cash?
No. The Nashville Film Festival is 100% cashless.
When should I arrive to screenings?
Theater doors open approximately 30 minutes prior to each screening. Ticket holders must be present and in line 15 minutes prior to showtime to guarantee entry.
What if a screening I want to attend is sold out?
Don’t give up! Tickets often become available if badge holders cancel their reservations, so we encourage you to keep checking online. Additionally, a “rush line” will be available before showtime for sold-out screenings. We are usually able to accommodate many rush line guests, and our theater staff will do everything they can to fill any open seats. We highly recommend arriving early to increase your chances!
Can I purchase same day tickets?
As long as the screening or event is not sold out, you can purchase tickets at any time! Tickets can be purchased in-person at the Box Office, online via the Festival Hub, or in the Nashville Film Festival app.
How can I get a member discount?
NashFilm members receive a 20% discount on tickets and badges. When purchasing tickets via the app or Festival Hub, members should login with the email address tied to their membership to receive the member discount. For more information on NashFilm Membership, click here.

Can I get a refund?
All badges, packages, and ticket sales are final and nonrefundable. In the unlikely event that in-person events must be canceled or relocated, exchanges or refunds will be made available. If you cannot attend for any reason, badges, packages, and individual ticket purchases can be transferred to another individual. See below for how to transfer a badge to another person.
Can I watch festival films online?
A selection of festival films will be available from Monday, September 28th through Monday, October 5th for at-home viewing. Please note that not all films screening in-person will be made available in the Virtual Cinema and in limited cases, geo-based restrictions may apply to some viewers outside of Tennessee or the United States. Tickets for virtual film screenings can be purchased individually or are included at no additional cost for certain badge holders.
