We’re now accepting applications for our volunteer pre-screener and reader committees for the 57th Nashville Film Festival!

These volunteers play a vital role in our programming process by reviewing film and screenplay submissions from around the world. Serving on a committee offers invaluable experience: volunteers gain insight into independent filmmaking at all levels, sharpen their critical viewing or reading skills, and engage directly with the creative voices shaping today’s industry.

Plus, volunteers receive points for each submission they review, and these points can be redeemed for complimentary badges or ticket packages to the 57th Nashville Film Festival.

Interested? We’d love to have you on the team. Apply to one or both committees. Follow the link in our bio for more info!

As part of our #FueltheFututeofFilm campaign, we’re shining a spotlight on one of our longest-running programs: The Living Reel Project—a collaboration that empowers teens in foster care to create, express, and be heard. 🎤💛

Every year, NashFilm partners with @youthvillages , @morainemusic , and a team of incredible Nashville songwriters, musicians, producers, and filmmakers to give underserved teens a rare opportunity: the chance to write, compose, and record an original song, and see their story come to life on screen.

This year’s song, “Trenches (Keep Going),” was co-written by the teens of Youth Villages (The Flyers), alongside acclaimed artists @kyshonamusic and @carlymoffa . Through guided workshops, the teens opened up, found their voices, and created something powerful, personal, and entirely their own.

Their journey was documented by professional filmmakers and premiered at #NashFilm56, giving each participant a platform, a moment of recognition, and a reminder that their voice matters.

Programs like Living Reel don’t just nurture artistic skills—they build confidence, resilience, and belonging for youth whose stories too often go unheard.

If this work resonates with you, we hope you’ll consider supporting our campaign. Your gift directly fuels programs that uplift young creators and help them discover what’s possible.
