Joann Self Selvidge is a documentary filmmaker and founder of Memphis-based production company True Story Pictures. Her award-winning films include the feature SEE THE KEEPERS (2016), about the work and personalities of zookeepers, and three shorts about criminal and juvenile justice, ROBERT (2016), VIOLA (2015), and VOICES OF JERICHO (2007). Since 2001, Selvidge has directed, produced, and edited dozens of shorts and features of her own and with other directors. She co-founded Memphis Women in Film, and she serves as a screener for Indie Memphis Film Festival. Her current feature in pre-production, JUVENILE, explores how our society criminalizes youth.
