The School of Humanities of the College of Arts and Sciences of Lipscomb University, in cooperation with the Nashville Film Festival is offering a free screening of the documentary Made in LA.
A feature documentary following three Latina immigrants working in Los Angeles garment sweatshops as they embark on a three-year odyssey to win basic labor protections from trendy clothing retailer Forever 21.
Wednesday, Jan. 27, at 8:30 p.m. in Lipscomb’s Shamblin Theatre, Just show up!

What happens when the imaginary world of two young girls begins to slip out of control? Witness the unsettling true story of two New Zealand teens who are willing to do anything to keep their relationship alive.

Co-Sponsored by the Nashville Film Festival, Queer Colored Glasses examines the Queer Experience through the Cinema. GARBAGE DREAMS (Mai Iskander)
Welcome to the world’s largest garbage village located on the outskirts of Cairo, Egypt. The Zaballeen (Arabic for garbage people) recycle 80 percent of the trash they collect—far more than other recycling initiatives. But now a multi-national corporation threatens their livelihood. Follow three teenage boys born into the business who are forced to make choices that will impact the survival of their community.
