Brian Owens
Artistic Director
Brian Owens joined NaFF in its 40th season. The movie industry is changing around us and it is becoming more difficult to see the independently-minded, challenging films that used to come to our art house theaters. Brian thinks a film festival is more important than ever for those of us who seek to expand our horizons, and he hopes to play a vital part in bringing some of the best cinema the world has to offer to Nashville. Brian believes that it is an honor to be joining this fine team.

Joe Pagetta
Media Relations Manager
Joe Pagetta has been the Media Relations Manager for Nashville Public Television and the Nashville Film Festival since 2006, seeing both organizations through periods of incredible growth. Previously, he was the assistant manager of marketing in the general licensing department at BMI for seven years, where he worked extensively on the Country in the Rockies benefit event. Born and raised in Jersey City, New Jersey, he studied journalism at New York University and holds a B.A. in English from St. Peter's College.
He currently sits on the board of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences Midsouth Region. When he’s not promoting the great work of NPT and NaFF, he’s busy being an independent singer-songwriter, writing essays, riding his bike, reading or tending to his book collection, or trying to perfect his Italian-American cooking technique. He’s most proud of the sandwich named after him at Savarino’s Italian Cucina in Nashville.
